Enjoy the freshest Seafood and Support 4-H at Local Ocean on November 6.
Dine out at Local Ocean on Newport’s Historic Bayfront anytime on November 6 and 10% of the proceeds will go to support the Lincoln County 4-H Program. With the freshest seafood on the Oregon Coast, Local Ocean is sure to please with local Dungeness crab cakes, fish and chips, seared salmon, tuna mignon, and an amazing selection of seafood sandwiches; the varied and delicious menu is certain to satisfy any palette.
By choosing Local Ocean on Tuesday, November 6, you will be helping youth throughout Lincoln County to expand their horizons through the 4-H Youth Development Program. Focused on helping youth achieve belonging, mastery, independency and generosity, 4-H offers opportunities to explore myriad project areas and a wide variety of subject matter.
Lincoln County 4-H youth participate in projects such as archery, photography, sewing, food preparation, public speaking, training of horses and dogs, raising and showing livestock and small animals, horticulture, science, and much more. They are also involved in many community service projects, such as creating holiday centerpieces for Meals on Wheels recipients at Youth-in-Action, partnering with the Oregon Coast Aquarium for Trick or Treat Street, and other great events throughout the year.
While any 4-H youth will happily talk about the fun they have in their clubs, leaders and parents know that what those activities help, build is competence, confidence, compassion, character, and connection. The 5-C model of youth development recognizes that building those assets in a young person leads to greater contribution in one’s community and higher satisfaction in life.
The Lincoln County 4-H Association, the non-profit that helps raise money for 4-H through partnerships such as the one with Local Ocean, invites you to enjoy the seafood grill’s delicious food on November 6 and be part of the keys to success for Lincoln County youth.
