NewsLincolnCounty.com was among other local news outlets to get phone calls from Lincoln County voters that they got the wrong ballot. Voters were getting ballots for towns they didn’t live in.
County Clerk Dana Jenkins says they got the word on the mistaken ballot mailings early and swung in to action to track down what went wrong and respond accordingly. Here’s Mr. Jenkins response:
This was isolated to the end of the alphabet with ballot style 12-1. (Yaquina precinct). These 25 or so voters were sent 21-1 ballot style ballots instead of the 12-1 that they should have.
We in the county clerk’s office try to make sure everything is perfect but sometimes human error happens. Filling ballot packets is a manual human process.
These voters will be sent replacement ballots today.
Please let me know if you hear of anyone specific that has this problem and we will contact them.
