At a ceremony in the Lincoln City Council Chambers on October 16th, former LCPD Evidence Tech Molly Wehrley was sworn in and became Officer Molly Wehrley.
Officer Wehrley spent almost a year with LCPD agency processing Evidence and Property, before deciding it was time to pursue her ultimate goal of becoming an officer. She developed an interest in Law Enforcement while participating as a Scout in her high school Police Explorer program where she was able to spend a lot time with officers as they made traffic stops, investigated crimes, and patrolled. This interaction with the public and the use of evidence to determine the truth drew her to a career in Law Enforcement, and prompted her to complete her certification in the Law Enforcement Specialist program from Tillamook Bay Community College in the spring of 2017.
Officer Wehrley is pleased to join the ranks of those before her who “toe the line and stand between order and chaos.” She is the kind of person who can jump in during a crisis and assist in any way necessary to help the vulnerable. As an officer, she aspires to continue the department’s efforts to reach out to the youth and community members in a positive way. She is honored for the opportunity to serve the citizens of Lincoln City in this new capacity.
Congratulations, Officer Wehrley!
