Reminder for public hearing on Newport utility rate structure
On Monday, October 15th, at 6:00 p.m., the Newport City Council will hold a public hearing at Newport City Hall to consider approving a new utility rate structure for water, sewer, storm water, and infrastructure fees. The city commissioned a rate study-analysis and has been reviewing the recommendations from this study since earlier this year. The purpose of this study is to determine, in part, whether the rate structure is fair and equitable among the various types of utility customers.
An insert was included in the recent utility bill with information on the rate-study analysis and links to the city website to submit public comment and review additional information. For convenience, below is a link to the recent insert with the information and online links.
