After delivering some household items for a customer in Redmond, Jerry Thompsons headed back home to Siletz. As he crested the Cascades just west of Suttle Lake, a pickup crossed over the center line and hit Thompsons’ vehicle head-on. The driver of the other vehicle was impaired and was arrested by Oregon State Police.
Jerry has a broken left knee, leg, left and right pelvic, as well as his left arm. He underwent hours of surgery just to repair his leg with more surgeries to follow.
Jerry is the sole breadwinner in his family, as his wife is battling breast cancer and is unable to work. They also has three children ages 12, 10, and 3, two of which are autistic.
Jerry is going to need multiple surgeries and extensive rehabilitation. His medical bills are going to start mounting, as well as household bills.
