The goals and priorities of both Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital and Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital for this funding cycle are:
Goal 1: Healthy families – Increase physical activity, fitness and access to nutritious foods for children and families. Priorities: Food insecurity
Goal 3: Better networks – Increase social supports for families. Priorities: Homelessness, housing costs, domestic violence, parent education, literacy and transportation.
Goal 4: Healthy kids – Increase services and supports for children. Priorities: Child abuse and/or neglect, child care availability and afterschool activities.

For questions, contact JoAnn Miller, director of Community Health Promotion, at 541-768-7330 or jomiller@samhealth.org, or Rochelle Hazelton at 541-768-7330 or rhazelton@samhealth.org.

Last year, the two Samaritan hospitals in Lincoln County distributed $150,000 in Social Accountability grants to organizations throughout the county. Funding decisions are made by committees consisting of employees and board members at each Samaritan-affiliated hospital. Funded programs address unmet needs of underserved populations and improve overall community health.
