The Pacific Communities Health District (PCHD) Foundation has named Julia Carlson of Waldport and Vicki Meyer of Seal Rock to its Board of Trustees.
Julia Carlson, a financial advisor for the past 20 years, is founder and CEO of Financial Freedom Wealth Management Group in Newport, managing six offices, 12 employees and more than $230 million in assets. A member of the Newport Rotary Club and the Newport Chamber of Commerce, she also serves on the PCHD Foundation’s finance committee.
Vicki Meyer co-owns and operates Ocean Beaches Glassblowing and Gallery in Seal Rock, providing an outlet for area artists to sell their work. In her previous career, she worked for 38 years as a registered nurse, including ten years as nurse manager of Surgical Services at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital (SPCH). She currently serves as a member of the PCHD Foundation’s governance committee.
Both Carlson and Meyer will each serve three-year terms as trustees.
Founded in 1983, the PCHD Foundation is a 501(c) (3) organization. Its mission is to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve by raising funds to acquire new equipment, facilities, services and education for the Pacific Communities Health District, in partnership with Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital.
“As a nonprofit health care provider, Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital doesn’t turn anyone away for inability to pay or insurance type,” said Ursula Marinelli, PCHD Foundation executive director. “Julia and Vicki bring valuable community and health care experience to their roles as trustees in support of that mission. We are so fortunate to have them on our board.”
