2nd Oregon Coast Invitational Youth Art Festival, part of Art Walk 25 being held in Toledo Labor Day Weekend.
Sponsored by the Oregon Coast Children’s Theatre/Center for the Arts September 1st, 2nd, & 3rd at the Olalla Center/Flowerree Center 321 S.E. 3rd St. up from Main Street in Downtown Toledo. Pick up an Art Walk Map at any gallery in Toledo. Kids can paint a picture to be part of the push pin show, or show up with a painted picture anyof the three days of Art Walk for a chance at winning free art supplies. Every entry receives a prize. Families, Youth & Community Volunteers can also help the organization build a mosaic panel for a U.S. National Park as part of “Art for the Parks” sponsored by OCCT/OCCCA 10-5 each day in the youth art center. Suite #3 in the Olalla/Flowerree Center.
OCCT/OCCCA has created over 94 works of public art in 7 Western States working with local youth, schools, and communities, 2 other national park panels have already been created including a panel for Yosemite National Park in 2014, and for Crater Lake National Park in Oregon in 2016 during the 100th Anniversary of the National Park System. The Educational Art Charity has also done works of Public Art for gardens, parks, art centers, museums, libraries, hospitals and for cities including the largest mosaic mural in Oregon for the city of Toledo next to City Hall the “Centennial Celebration Mural” created in 2005 which worked with over 1,000 students and volunteers.
Young and Old are invited to help – no artistic experience needed. Instructors will help volunteers help with creation of the work of art. Work will be done here in Oregon, and also in Montana.
