Seismic activity off Southwest Oregon
A swarm of earthquakes off the southwest Oregon Coast rang the alarm bells for emergency preparedness offices in Oregon and Washington this morning. But the earthquake cluster came and went and didn’t trigger even a small tsunami. But it reminded everyone that the area should be ready for what will be a very large earthquake within the next 75 to 150 years, according to geophysicists and earthquake experts who have plotted the history of such earthquakes off the Pacific Northwest Coast.
