To all the TAXPAYERS of Lincoln County:
Lincoln County will be hosting three public meetings next week (Yachats, Toledo & Lincoln City) presenting their newest redevelopment plan for the County Fairgrounds. People are encouraged to attend and provide comments. As a member of the Master Plan Vision Committee, I have requested that a fourth public meeting be held in Newport.
Yachats: Tuesday, June 26, 6–8 p.m. in the Yachats Commons
Toledo: Wednesday, June 27, 2-4 p.m. Toledo City Hall (206 N Main Street, Toledo)
Lincoln City: Wednesday, June 27, 6-8 p.m. Lincoln City Hall (801 SW Hwy 101, Lincoln City)
CommonSense-LincolnCounty has formed recently. It is a grassroots organization registered with the State of Oregon to give voice to the people who do not agree with wasting tax dollars on a plan to redevelop the Lincoln County Fairgrounds, while supporting a County Fair and 4-H.
We believe this redevelopment plan is a waste of our tax dollars that could, and should, be used for the betterment of Lincoln County projects and/or for issues that are far more important to the local population — such as mental health, affordable workforce housing, infrastructure, etc… all of which are in crisis. The current Fairgrounds redevelopment plan is not needed, is too expensive, and all consultant reports assure that the facility will never pay for itself – at any level of use.

Please attend a public meeting in your community and provide your opinion.
