Prepare for the unexpected during a showing of the 1975 film classic “Jaws” on the Jumbotron at the Lincoln City Community Center! The big shark will take to the big screen at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14.
Bring your favorite inner tube, air mattress or deck chair and watch as the giant great white shark terrorizes residents and visitors of a New England beach town until the local sheriff teams up with a marine biologist and an old sea captain to hunt down the monster.
Admission is by a drop-in fee or with an aquatic or premier membership. All ages are welcome! Pool space is limited so be sure to arrive well before showtime!

Touch-a-Truck is a day for big rigs and small kids at the Lincoln City Community Center! This year Touch-a-Truck takes place from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16 in the Community Center parking lot.
Touch-a-Truck provides an up-close look at vehicles of all shapes and sizes, from bulldozers and garbage trucks to rescue rigs and watercraft. And, weather permitting, a medical services helicopter is scheduled to land in the parking lot.
The event also features free refreshments as well as children’s games, clowns, face painting, raffle prizes and a watermelon seed spitting contest!
Touch-a-Truck is for all ages, and admission is free!

Sponsored by the Lincoln City Parks and Recreation Department, the Ocean’s Edge 5K will take place at 9 a.m. Sunday, July 7 on the beach behind Kyllo’s Restaurant, just north of the D River Wayside State Park.
Runners, walkers, families and four-legged friends are welcome. The overall male and female winners will receive glass floats, and ribbons will be awarded to the top three finishers in five-year age divisions. A drawing for restaurant gift certificates and other prizes will follow the race.
Ocean’s Edge is the original beach running event on the Oregon Coast, and is held every year at low tide for the best running and walking conditions.
Professional timing services will be offered by Scovell Racing, and commemorative T-shirts are available with your race registration. The cost before July 7 is $15 (race only) or $25 (with shirt).
