The Gleneden Beach July 4th Parade and Craft Fair will celebrate its twenty-fourth year on Wednesday, July 4th. Many of the details will remain the same and will be outlined in a later story.
Big changes will be put in place regarding the location and vendor booths and parking, according to Louise Cremeen, chair of the parade committee.
VENDOR BOOTHS—The booths will be located in the parking lot adjacent to Eden Hall and in various locations along the parade route, including the Kernville-Gleneden Beach-Lincoln Beach Water District office and the Gleneden Beach Medical Center. Other booths will be placed at points along the parade route.
PARKING—“No cars will be permitted along the parade route,” says Cremeen. “Any car parked in a ‘No Parking’ zone will be towed.” Handicapped parking will be at Radar Plumbing.” Shuttle buses operate every 15 minutes from parking lots at Salishan, the county airport across Highway 101, and the State Park. Handicapped parking will be available at Radar Plumbing.
PLACING CHAIRS ALONG THE PARADE ROUTE—Spectators who place their chairs the night before need to be careful. “If you see a saw horse, don’t put your chair in front of it,” continues Cremeen. “That is a place holder for a vendor booth. There will be more room for chairs on the east side of the road than the west side.”
