IVAN KELLY STUDIO & GALLERY is featuring a whimsical painting in oil by Kelly of puffins perched on the cliffs above the ocean. Wondrous birds that have always been associated with the Central Oregon Coast, Kelly has captured a quiet moment of rest for the three shown. Open this weekend Sat. 11:am-5:pm and Sun. Noon-5:pm. The YAQUINA RIVER MUSEUM OF ART, a non-profit that sponsors all 1st Weekend events, will show 5 NEW GICLEE PRINTS of paintings by Michael Gibbons from “Yaquina”, a travelling exhibit showcasing the Yaquina Watershed. Priced from $35. to $75., these limited editions depict the landscape as known to the artist over 35 years. Open Noon to 5:pm on the weekend and Noon to 4:pm Wed. through Sunday. The Old 1926 Vicarage houses the SIGNATURE GALLERY of Michael Gibbons and is open from noon to 5:pm for the 2-day event as well as Wed. through Sunday. Gibbons has painted a simple view in the Coast Mountain Range of trees and a barn he so loves with foggy background and warm golden grass in the foreground. FRANCYFOLK PHOTOS & MUSIC continues to feature the work of Robert Coghill, (deceased) artist who was well known throughout the state for his imaginative mostly abstract art. Coghill lived near Siletz and Frank Jones (owner of the gallery) was a longtime friend. The gallery is featuring a very good selection of his work and invites all to stop by to take a look. Original music by Jones and photography are also shown.
