The mother of two young boys appeared in Lincoln County Circuit Court on Tuesday in connection with her alleged attempt to kill her six year old son, and possibly causing her 1 year old to swallow an undetermined amount of methamphetamine.
The reported attacks on the boys occurred at Nemoria Villagomez’s apartment in north Newport last week. Court testimony revealed that Villagomez repeatedly stabbed her six year old son who then bolted from the apartment and fled to a neighbor’s apartment. Testimony also revealed there was a lot of blood in the boy’s home. He was later transported to a trauma center in Portland where he was expected to survive his injuries.
Court testimony revealed that police found Villagomez in a bed clutching her 1 year old son. Police are quoted as saying that Villagomez said her six year old deserved to be stabbed. Police added that they determined that Villagomez had choked her younger son causing him to possibly swallow an undetermined amount of methamphetamine.
Court records showed that her first son had been taken from her back in 2014 by the state and that drugs had been found in her apartment. It was also revealed that she had been sentenced to five years probation and ordered to undergo alcohol abuse treatment.
The investigation continues.
