After 12 years as Depoe Bay’s Fire Chief, Chief Josh Williams is about to hang his fire hat at a different station. The one in Aurora, near Wilsonville in the Valley.
Williams said he’s thoroughly enjoyed his tenure at Depoe Bay – made a lot of progress and made a lot of friends. Chief Williams will be taking over the helm in Aurora the first of May. Aurora is a smaller fire department but they’ve already got a revenue measure on the ballot to upgrade services.
The Depoe Bay Fire Department crew is having a going away party for him April 30th – and they’re inviting the whole town to come down and reminisce on some old times and what’s next for both departments – Depoe Bay and Aurora.
Chief Williams says he’ll leave Depoe Bay in the very competent hands of soon-to-be Chief Bill Johnson.
