Dr. Karen Gray has been announced as the new Superintendent of Schools for Lincoln County.
Karen Gray currently serves as the Parkrose Superintendent (Portland area), where she began in this role 11 years ago. Prior to her current position, she served the Coos Bay School District for 13 years in a variety of capacities (special education teacher, speech pathologist, special education administrator, Assistant Principal, Principal, Director of Special Programs), including as Superintendent her last three years there. She is the 2017-18 Oregon Superintendent of the year.

Dr. Karen Fischer Gray is the current Superintendent of the Parkrose School District and has been since 2007. Previously she was Superintendent of the Coos Bay School District. Her BA and MA are in Communicative Disorders/Speech Pathology from Cal State University Fullerton and her doctorate is from the University of Oregon in Educational Leadership, Policy and Management.
Dr. Gray Karen is the current Chair of the Oregon Educational Equity Advisory Group, which meets by state statute to increase the number of linguistically and racially diverse educators in Oregon. She is a former Spirit of Portland Award winner and has been in education for 36 years. Karen served on the Portland Planning and Sustainability Commission from 2010-2015. She was born and raised in New York City and now resides in Portland, Oregon.
