Lincoln City Police responded to a report of a vehicle illegally parked on NE Port Lane off NE Logan Road. Officer Greene found two individuals apparently sleeping in the backseat and asked them who they were. Two other officers arrived on scene and discovered the vehicle was stolen out of Multnomah County.
The officers tried to remove both occupants car but the male refused. He jumped into the driver’s seat and struck one of the patrol vehicles as he took off. During the chase the suspects drove south on Voyage Ave and then turned into the Chinook Winds Golf Course. The suspects drove across the main parking lot and then onto the golf cart path below the clubhouse – then drove across a fairway and continued east on NE 50th Street.
The officers were able to box the vehicle in at NE 50th and NE Zephyr Ct. after the stolen vehicle became high-centered near the 12th tee. The occupants of the car ran off into heavy brush near a ravine. The female, who was barefoot, was quickly apprehended. However the male disappeared into the thick foilage.
Another police officer with K-9 Bonnie were quickly on scene and soon had the male in custody. He was identified Alan Dean Coulter, age 42, of Portland. He was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for Felony Attempt to Elude, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Misdemeanor Attempt to Elude, Driving While Suspended Misdemeanor, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Giving False Information to a Police Officer and Criminal Mischief. Coulter also had outstanding arrest warrants for Felony Parole Violation out of Clackamas County and a misdemeanor warrant for Theft out of Multnomah County. The female was identified as Nicole Hallanger, age 22, of Gresham. She was arrested and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Misdemeanor Attempt to Elude.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges may be filed.
