The Lincoln County Genealogical Society meets monthly at the Toledo Public Library on the first Saturday of each month, dealing with informative topics for local audiences who are seeking help in locating their family ancestors.
On Saturday, March 3rd, Laurie Stevens, a Family History Consultant with the Newport Family History, and an active member of the Lincoln County Genealogical Society, will be sharing a training video titled “Finding Elusive Records on Family Search.” 77% of the free historical records on Family Search.org can’t be found by searching. This presentation will show you how to use resources like unindexed image collections and the Family Search catalog to help you break through the roadblocks on your family tree.
Laurie’s presentation will be held at the Toledo Public Library, 173 NW 7th Street, commencing at 10 a.m. Following her presentation, there will be a Q & A session, where she and local LCGS members will be present to answer questions and assist you in your research. You are encouraged to bring with you any documentary information pertaining to your family history for which you are seeking further details.
The mission of the society is to educate, record and preserve genealogical/historical records and information. The objectives are to encourage and instruct members in research, sharing, compiling and publishing genealogical materials. Membership is open to anyone interested in genealogy and history.
