Lincoln City City Councilor Kip Ward has died at a Portland hospital after a short battle with cancer. Ward was a veteran city councilor who was one of the most outspoken members of the council. He made his living in the hospitality industry. His death comes as a shock to all who knew him, which is about half the town. He’ll be remembered as someone who loved and respected good people who worked hard to improve the community. Kip was certainly one of them.
Those who want to share their respects to Kip’s memory and to his family, they’re pouring in on his Facebook Page – Click here.
From Kip Ward’s Family:
Kip Ward passed away on Monday, February 12. Our family is grateful for the outpouring of support from so many on social media, by phone, and via cards and letters. For now, friends and well-wishers are asked to respect the family’s wishes for privacy during this difficult time. A celebration of life is planned for the future and will be announced in the days or weeks to come. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Kip’s favorite charity, The Beach Bark (which he founded with his wife, Katrica) can be made via the Beach Bark’s Facebook page.
