Wildlife was Abundant with Native Species, Mussels, Clams, Salmon Heron Frog, Bird Turtle, Marbled Murrelet, Migratory Birds, Roosevelt Elk, Black Tail Deer, Plants, Pollinators, many species and one of our friends, Beavers.

Coos Tribe member was on a Sacred Journey to Save the Elliott State Forest. We spoke of Beaver’s Returns He told me, “Beavers Taught Salmon to Jump,” I spoke to him, “Beaver Dam’s Leaks for Salmon & Food Species, Safe Passage to Sea of Plenty.” We Agreed”

I am privileged to mark off Bucket List “Save Elliott Forest” Friends I got to hug my first Big Elliott Forest Tree. Wow. Victory was only accomplished through Communication Education Outreach. The most effective was a letter writing campaign to the State Land Board & Oregon State Lands Director deciding to Open Up Public Comment.

Governor Kate Brown decided first to Save the Elliott State Forest. Then Treasurer and Secretary of State, Both Agreed. Coastal Citizen’s Saved Virgin Elliott State Forest from Saws. Celebration!!!! Thin the Tree Farms, Harvest, Restoration, Resilience of Ecosystem. Sustainable Forests Do Not Kill Native Species with Chemicals.

Bring Back Elakha (E-lak-ha) Chinook jargon for Sea Otter. Keystone Species of Oregon Nearshore. Bob Bailey & Roy Lowe did a great presentation on Oregon Coast Sea Otter Extinct from Hunting 1911. Thank you we had a great turn out. Come & Join us Sunday.

Welcome Alsea Tribal Life at Cape Perpetua Feb 11th, Sunday 1:00pm Cape Perpetua Visitors Center.
