A Depoe Bay hotel guest became enamored with the idea of taking a bath in a Depoe Bay tidal pool. So out and over the rocks he trogged, then down toward the water. The tidal-pool-bather arrived at his destination only to find that his “bath water” was a bit more variable than it had appeared at a distance. And it was quite cold. So he decided to head back up the rock face which he found to be a bit more difficult than climbing down.
Some hotel service workers marched out to the edge of the rock face and helped him back up. Soon he was back to safer ground and enroute to his room. Lesson hopefully learned. Oceans are not like swimming pools or hot tubs, no matter how they look on TV.
