Dr. Mattarella earned a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and a doctorate from University of Wisconsin-Madison and a medical degree from Michigan State University. She completed pediatric residency training at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine-Sparrow Hospital and a fellowship in primary care faculty development at Michigan State University.
Most recently, she was an assistant professor of pediatrics and human development at Michigan State University and she saw pediatric patients at the Ingham County Community Health Centers. “I had been working at a federally qualified health center, which is similar to a rural health clinic. Both help bring needed health care to underserved areas,” she explained.
On a personal note, Dr. Mattarella enjoys gardening and working with her horses. She and her husband, who is retired, have two grown sons and one granddaughter.
