Oregon no where near prepared to cope with earthquake/tsunami disaster – State Audit
In an audit just released by the Secretary of State’s Office the audit concludes that Oregon, as a state, is nowhere near ready to adequately respond to a major earthquake off the coast and the damage it would cause during the shaking and the tsunami that would soonafter come crashing ashore.
State officials say it comes down to money – something the state is short off partially due to other issues tugging at the state budget – the biggest of course is paying off a big PERS bill.
