Earthquakes (plural) Southeast of Kodiak AK – One at 4.7 Richter – Earthquake swarm continues – nothing hitting a 5 Richter – no further warnings.
There are no further tsunami warning notices as the one we received earlier this evening from “Google Alerts.” There is, in fact, a series of mid-4 Richter quakes swarming along the Alaskan subduction zone about 175 miles southeast of Kodiak, Alaska. It’s very seismically active. But local media in the area are not reporting any tsunami warnings.
We’d rather be safe than sorry. There was a tsunami warning for the whole west coast Monday night due to a 7.9 Richter in the same area and the swarm continued this evening.
