The Newport 60+ Activity Center will be offering free a free Community Dreamwork series of classes on dream interpretation Saturdays, starting February 3, 2018 and ending March 3rd, 2018. Class time will be 3:30 – 5:00 PM.
Amber R. Balk, Ph.D. is an educator, researcher, and independent consultant who combines diverse educational and professional backgrounds to provide well-rounded and unique individual and group services, which include workshops, online courses, psychospiritual development opportunities, and much more. A graduate of the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (now Sofia University) in Palo Alto, California, she holds a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology and a MA in Women’s Spirituality. Amber additionally holds a degree in traditional psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma, which emphasized quantitative research methodology. Thus, she is well-versed in both mainstream and alternative schools of psychological thought, research, and practice. Her passion, however, lies with innovative community action projects working with under-served, historically oppressed populations and overlooked topics with the intention of ushering social change and communal transformation.
Come learn how to decode the messages of your dreams in a safe, facilitated group setting. Many believe dreams to be nonsensical or meaningless, and nothing could be farther from the truth! Learning how to work dreams can bring a dynamic, healing, and helpful dimension
to one’s psychospiritual journey and can serve as a unique tool for introspection and self-development. This course is an invitation to new or seasoned dreamworkers to experience the power of dream work shared in community. Please bring a notebook, pen, & dreams.
