Community Center welcomes new aquatic/fitness instructor
Lori Templeman has joined the Lincoln City Community Center as a group aquatic and fitness instructor.
A training specialist for the Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA), Templeman travels the country providing certification and continuing education workshops for instructors. She also presents workshops at various conferences throughout the year, including abroad. In addition, Templeman is a certified Yoga and Tai Chi instructor and personal trainer.
Templeman holds certifications from AEA, American Council on Exercise (ACE), Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), and Dr. Lam’s Tai Chi for Health Programs. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies from California State University Stanislaus in Turlock, and minored in art history at the University of Bristol, England.
Templeman is a newcomer to the Oregon Coast, where she has fallen in love with the community atmosphere and variety of interesting people she meets. Templeman and her husband enjoy freshwater and saltwater fishing, and they are looking forward to exploring the many fishing spots along the coast.
“We are thrilled to have an instructor of Lori’s caliber join the Community Center aquatics team,” Gail Kimberling, center director, said. “We look forward to growing our aquatics programming and dryland classes with Lori’s expertise!”
Templeman said, “Fitness and wellness are essential ingredients of a balanced lifestyle. Find an activity you enjoy and listen to your body so you can make the best choices for yourself. The exercises we offer are designed to translate into our daily activities. I keep my knowledge up to date with continuing education, which keeps my fitness standards on the cutting edge.”
Join Lori Templeman for water aerobics classes at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Templeman will also instruct Gentle Yoga at 1 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and Tai Chi at 1 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
