Report of a surf rescue off Depoe Bay. Fire-Rescue is being told that there is a light flashing off 565 SW Cove Point – an S-O-S, a universal distress call coming from a boat offshore. It’s pretty dark out there, so visibility may be marginal at best.
O buoy, O buoy were they fooled! The Coast Guard says the object is a harbor entrance buoy and it does flash a light sending out morse code to confirm where the maritime observer is – and that it is the entry-way into Depoe Bay Harbor!
