Lincoln County’s 4th annual Veterans Stand Down will take place Friday, December 8th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Shilo Inn, 536 SW Elizabeth St, Newport. The event is sponsored by the Worksource Oregon Employment Department and the Lincoln County Veterans Service Office.
The goal of the stand down is to bring service providers to the veterans of Lincoln County. Providers include the Veterans administration, housing services, Legal Aid, free dental services, free tools, Department of Motor Vehicles, and many others. There will be breakfast and lunch provided, and surplus military gear will be available as needed. This event is open to all veterans free at no cost. Lincoln County Transit will be providing free transportation to and from the event. Free dental care will be available on Friday December 8th 2017 during the 4th Annual Veterans Stand Down at the Newport Shilo Inn. Services range from routine check-ups to tooth extractions. Services are 100% FREE OF CHARGE, A DD-214 or VA/DOD ID Card is required for dental services. Appointments are available from 9:00am to 10:00am and walk-ins from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
