Newport’s iconic Newport Belle stern wheeler Bed and Breakfast is back home in Newport after an extended upgrade engagement at Bud Shoemake’s place upriver in Toledo – aka the Toledo Boat Yard. The venerable Newport attraction underwent some upgrades to keep it top of mind for locals and tourists as a unique ‘get away’ without having to leave Yaquina Bay.

The vessel has a spacious interior that gives the impression and feeling of a much larger space. And along with it are large windows to let in the charming and refreshing view of South Beach, the Yaquina Bay Bridge and Newport’s expansive waterfront. And the Newport Belle’s culinary offerings are quite impressive.

And as it so happens, not only can you book a Bn’B stay aboard the Newport Belle, you can even buy it if you’re so inclined. Here’s the full story as provided by Newport Belle owners, husband and wife Michael and Nancy!

The Newport Belle is a steel hull fully furnished riverboat with nearly 3,000 square feet of living area. Custom built in 1993 as a floating B&B, she could easily be a unique family retreat or private/corporate retreat. The “Belle” features beautifully recycled old growth Douglas Fir flooring, 6 comfortable en-suite cabins, plus owner’s apartment (management always on board), a beautiful wooded salon and dining area. The Solarium over the paddle-wheel has a spectacular full-on view of the Yaquina Bay Bridge, built in 1934 – the span is an art deco masterpiece in-and-of-itself!

The Belle is equipped with 9.5 baths and 200 gallon hot water tanks.

Also, U S Range electric stove/oven, 2 refrigerators, Bosch dishwasher, microwave/convection oven, 3-compartment stainless steel sink, built in electric heaters in all cabins, wood pellet stove in Salon and a Solar powered Solarium!

The Belle is hooked up at the dock to ALL city utilities.

Shown by appointment only. If you would like a tour of the Newport Belle or have any questions simply call Nancy or Michael at 541-867-6290.
