Happy Fall, KYAQ Community Members! We’ve been busy here at KYAQ and have lots of information to share about what’s going on at the station, and to tell you about a few events happening this month and next.
Last December KYAQ was in danger of going off the air because it couldn’t pay a large, past-due debt. Because of your generosity and commitment to community radio, KYAQ was able to retire that debt and is still on the airwaves! THANK YOU! However, this year finds the station in jeopardy once again – this time the past-due rent bill must be paid in order to stay at our present location. KYAQ needs to raise $9,000 by the end of 2017 or face eviction. The good news is once this bill is paid, KYAQ will be on firm footing thanks to you! KYAQ has only been on the air 4 years, and to find itself debt-free going into 2018 will be a real accomplishment and demonstrates the strong commitment for community radio in Lincoln County. It’s tough to ask you all again to help pay this last deficit, but we know how important community radio is to you. Last year KYAQ raised nearly $10,000! So we know we can do it again, but only with your help. To meet our new goal of $9,000, we’ve planned some fun events.
