One celtic festival leaves Lincoln County – Another steps in to take its place with wonderful music and dancing

The Yachats Celtic Music Festival opens its doors at noon on Friday November 10, at the Yachats Commons. Headliner is Seamus Egan, a founding member of the band Solas, with his latest musical adventure The Seamus Egan Project. Also appearing at the festival is, Kevin Carr and Company, The Bronnie Griffin Band, with Cary Novotny and Johnny B. Connoly, Rich and Margot Fetrow, Bob Soper and Elizabeth Nicholson and Lindsay Straw.

Concerts, dances, stories, whisky tasting, workshops, vendors, the sunset, Piper on the Point, plus surprises await attendees with free and paid activities scheduled all weekend all around town. The early Friday opening is new and offers an opportunity to enjoy live music and have a Celtic inspired snack or beverage before the afternoon concerts begin.

Dance plays a larger part in this year’s festival with three Saturday afternoon workshops at the Lions Club, including a free 1 PM children’s class, plus performances and the popular Ceili dance on Sunday.

The Saturday afternoon single-malt Scotch Whisky tasting at The Drift Inn, will be led by local whisky connoisseur John Robbins. Samples from five different Scottish regional distilleries will be tasted and discussed. Limited tickets are now on sale. Adults only $40.00.

Produced by Polly Plumb Productions, a Yachats based non-profit, the festival is sponsored by Columbia Bank, KLCC, The Drift Inn and Cafe, Yachats Farmstore and Brewing, Bridies Irish Faire in Nye Beach and dozens of local volunteers.

The Commons Box office will open at noon on Friday, Tickets will also be available at the door for the Lions, Club and Little Log Church events. Tickets for the Sat. 3 PM whisky tasting at the Drift Inn, are now selling on Brown Paper Tickets. The Little Log Church events and the whisky tasting have limited seating.
