The Imagine Lincoln City Vision Team is hosting a Community Open House on Tuesday, November 14, at the Lincoln City Community Center, 2150 NE Oar Place, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join us for this fun event. This is our next step in developing the vision, and we need your thoughts and opinions.
Imagine Lincoln City is a community engagement program with one overarching goal – to create a guiding vision for the way our community looks, feels, and functions over the next twenty years based on the views from the people who live, work, play, and visit here. This project will create a framework for future decisions, investment and collaboration to ensure that vision is achieved.
Over the last several months the Vision Team, which is being led by the City, has gathered over 1,000 comments from Lincoln City citizens. Residents, neighbors from other communities and visiting tourists have shared what they think makes Lincoln City special and what they believe should be preserved for the future. The outreach effort has also yielded hundreds of potentially transformative ideas which will be shared at the open house. People can review the ideas, share which ones they think are best or add any that may have been missed.
This open house will be fun for the whole family. It’s the next step in developing a shared vision for our home town. Comments, either oral or written, can be offered by stopping by anytime between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. There will be activities for kids, prizes and a chance to make a difference in your community by sharing your thoughts and preferences of what Lincoln City should do to take the community to the next level.
