CLARIFICATION REGARDING COYOTE ACTIVITY REPORTED IN THE AREA OF NW 60TH STREET AND AGATE BEACH PARK

Several weeks ago, the City of Newport advised residents that it received a report of coyotes in the area of NW 60th Street and Agate Beach Park. The previous press release indicated that the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife planned to trap and relocate any coyotes found in this area. The city has learned that ODF&W does not plan to relocate coyotes.

If you observe a coyote in your neighborhood, contact the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife at 541.867.4741 or 541.867.0300, for additional information.

General wildlife information is available on the ODF&W website at http://www.dfw.state.or.us/.
