Central Coast artist Karen Fitzgibbon produced these sculptures in observance of the 2017 Solar Eclipse coming up August 21st. They’re both solemn, but still possess traces of whimsy to embrace the range of human experience as millions of people look up and watch the Moon pass perfectly across the Sun.
Karen Fitzgibbon is a self-taught artist. Fitzgibbon launched her life-long artistic career in fiber arts and later moved into fabric, sculpture, clay and wood.
These two artistic works are available for purchase by emailing her at FikaaDesigns@Live.com, or they can viewed at the Pacific Artists Alliance Co-op just north of the Lincoln City Cultural Center at 620 NE Highway 101, Lincoln City..
Commenting on her own artistic evolution she said “Being an artist is learning new processes. It’s passionate work that calls to us, that keeps us engaged and intrigued, developing new insights and ways to express what’s inside us as artists as revealed in our work.”
