The annual Summer Members’ Art Show for Artists’ Studio Association (ASA) opens on Friday, July 14, with a reception for the artists and the art-loving public. The event is held at 620 NE HWY 101 in Lincoln City (in the same building as the Co-op Gallery). This year’s theme–“Moon Shadow”– focuses on the upcoming eclipse.”
The show features work by students and members of ASA, alongside work of the instructors. The opening reception will include refreshments and artist demonstrations from 5:00 till 7:00 pm. Blaine Johnson and Merren Garland will be painting plein air and Laurie Pollack will do Chinese watercolor.
Beginner, intermediate and advanced artists whose art was completed during the past year will show their works in a variety of media, including watercolor, oil/acrylic, mixed media, pastel, pen and ink, block printing, photography and mosaics. Carole Hillsbery, from Florence, will be on the judging panel this year. Most of the art will be for sale during the show. During the show, the featured Artists of the Month will be the “Art Smart Kids Class” for 7 to 13 year olds, held earlier this spring with instructor Krista Eddy.
The gallery is ADA accessible. Ample parking is available and entrance to the building is through the Co-op Gallery or from the rear parking lot. For more information about the show or upcoming art classes, visit www.asaart.net or the Facebook page of Artist’s Studio Association.
The show will remain open to the public until July 29.
