TREASURE DEPOE BAY to host the annual Pirate Treasure Hunt, Saturday, August 5th, 8:30am – The battle commences at 10am!!
Four person teams will:
Decide if it is murder or mayhem, suicide or skullduggery
Complete carnival-type games and tasks
Test their problem solving skills
Learn to manage time as well as think outside the box
Dress like pirates and run around saying “Arrr” and “Shiver me Timbers” (If they don’t, there may be a penalty, Arrr…)
The fee of $40 will entitle the team of four to compete in the event. Each team will complete tasks and games on the street, designed to be fun, challenging and entertaining to the visitors. They will cipher the truth from the pirate actors in town, and try to figure out who is who. The journey will take the teams along the Depoe Bay sea wall and storefronts along Highway 101. Application entries may be mailed to Treasure Depoe Bay PO Box 335, Depoe Bay OR 97341, or be presented in person at Pirate Coffee Company, 10 Vista St. & Hwy 101, Depoe Bay, until 9:00 am. on the day of the event.
On Saturday morning, August 5th, coffee, juice, pastry and a breakfast burrito are available (at below deck prices) starting at 8:30 a.m. at Pirate Coffee Company in Depoe Bay. (across from the 76 Station)
Team Captains will be issued the all important rules and booty bag beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Pirate Coffee Company. Group and team photos will be taken at the Whale Watch Center, sharply at 9:30 a.m. The HUNT will start by cannon fire from “The King’s Navy” at 10:00 a.m.
The event concludes with silent and live auctions, snacks, pastries, finger food and non alcoholic beverages at the Depoe Bay Community Hall on Bay St. Teams will be awarded with real treasure chests full of booty worth $20 to $100.

Treasure Depoe Bay is a non-profit group, organized to assist the Depoe Bay and surrounding communities.
All proceeds from this event will go to the local “Depoe Bay Food Pantry” program (part of the Oregon Food Bank).
