On Monday, June 26, Waldport mayor Susan Woodruff (right) joined Emily DeHuff, president of Friends of Lincoln County Animals, in saluting and thanking these two young Waldport philanthropists, best friends Mariah Mobley and Maia Stout, who raised $200 for FOLCAS’s Max Fund by designing and marketing T-shirts online (plus baking and selling cookies). The Max Fund helps Lincoln County residents with financial assistance for emergency vet care. Carrying out fundraising projects for such worthy causes is the girls’ favorite hobby. To learn more about FOLCAS’s work for Lincoln County’s shelter animals and pets, visit folcas.com, and follow Pick of the Litter Thrift Store on Facebook.
Also a member of the Mobley family is Koby aka Puppy Einstein, the trick dog and K9 artist trained by mom Kim, who holds him in this photo. Koby’s amazing accomplishments can be seen on YouTube, including creating abstract paintings such as the one held here by FOLCAS volunteer coordinator Christine Wisniewski. Last summer Koby donated one of his paintings to an auction benefiting FOLCAS, where it fetched $100 for the Max Fund. Follow Koby on Facebook to enjoy his many adventures and trademark paw waves. Maia’s mom, Michele (2nd from right), lends encouragement and support to all these worthwhile projects.
