The Oregon Promise program, which helps graduating high school seniors pay for college, looks like it’s going to have to cut back it’s “across the board” views of who should get that financial help. The Promise fund is likely to be cut by around eight million dollars due to overall budget constraints. Governor Brown has responded by saying, in effect, okay, we need to help the ones who need the help the most. The wealthy families who have been getting the same consideration as low income families, will just have to buck up and pay retail.
