After a stinging loss last November when a majority of voters said “no” to an increase in taxes on large corporations, education advocates, including their unions went to work to find some other legislation that the voters might find palatable.
And they think they’ve got it. But it’s also being bombarded by Oregon’s business giants who complain that no new taxes should be raised until the legislature trims government fat FIRST.
