Newport Elks Raise Thousands for Crash Victim Tracy Mason and her family
Newport Elks Lodge #2105 recently hosted a fundraiser for Tracy Mason, a Lincoln County school bus driver who was seriously injured in a traffic crash while driving to work on Highway 20. An oncoming pickup crossed over the center line and obliterated her vehicle. Tracy suffered terrible injuries and will be in recovery for a long time.
Tracy’s friends and co-workers contacted the Newport Elks to hold a spaghetti fundraiser to help Tracy and her family deal with the financial hardship the crash placed on them.
The Newport Elks got right to it, launching a large dinner/fundraiser for Tracy and her family at their Elks Lodge.
State Trustee Lannie Schulze manned the kitchen to provide a great meal, while friends and co-workers served more than 250 members of the community with a dinner that included spaghetti, garlic knots and salad. The Newport Elks raised nearly $5,000 for Tracy and her family.
The mission of the Elks is to serve their communities through benevolent programs, demonstrating that “Elks Care and Elks Share.” For more information on how you can be involved with Newport Lodge and be a part of all the great things they do in the community, call the Lodge at 541-265-2105.
