Although more revenues are coming into the state’s tax coffers, costs appear to be rising quite a bit faster, aggravated by the unmerciful ever-rising PERS deficit. While all that is going on, lawmakers are trying to figure out what all the highway, road and street improvements are going to cost and find ways to pay for them. It can’t be much fun being an Oregon lawmaker these days.
