Step back in time and experience a bit of yesteryear. On Thursday, July 6, 2017, the Newport 60+ Activity Center Adventure Van will be headed to beautiful Garibaldi, OR, for people to enjoy the awesome Oregon Coast Line by riding the rail behind a historic Steam Locomotive. The 90-minute round-trip excursion meanders by Tillamook Bay, the Pacific Ocean, Nehalem Bay, and through the Nehalem River Valley, and passes by many lakes and gorgeous panoramic views that can only be seen by rail.
Before “All Aboard” we will stop at the Blue Heron Cheese and Wine Company for a fantastic lunch at the deli (on your own).
The Blue Heron is an Oregon-based company celebrating over 30 years in business and has something for everyone! Sample their famous Brie Cheese, try the gourmet foods, taste Oregon’s finest wines, or wander through the unique gift store. Pick up some cheese, dressings, sauces, jams, jellies, candies, chocolate or crackers, to name just a few goodies!
Cost for this trip is $37.00. The 60+ Adventure Van will be leaving Newport at 8:00 am and will be returning around 5:00 pm. Space is limited.
