The Elliot State Forest is back in the news this evening – caused by a logging company that ran up some legal costs preparing it’s bid to complete with other bidders in buying the timber rights to the forest.
But a funny thing happened on the way to making a deal to take it off the state’s hands, the state took the sale off the table. Shortly thereafter, one of the bidders wound up holding the bag on those legal fees and is now suing the state to try to recoup it’s filing losses.
