A 38 year old Newport woman, charged with starting a fire that claimed the lives of four customers of the City Center Motel last summer, has been determined, in the opinion of mental health professionals, unfit to proceed any further in court proceedings against her, this from a report from KPTV News in Portland.
Rebecca Sinclair, accused of manslaughter, homicide, reckless endangering and more, underwent an evaluation by staff at Oregon State Hospital and in a report just issued declared that Sinclair is unable to competently participate in aiding in her legal defense in court.
But the hospital staff may not have the last word in the case. KPTV News says Sinclair will be back in court in late June for a court review of the hospital report. Click here for more from KPTV.
