Distracted driving with a cell phone – First offense $1,000. Second, $2,000!
The Oregon Legislature has “had it up to here” with the fact that eight times a day in Oregon, a phone-toting driver takes their eyes off the road causing a car crash.
The Oregon House of Representatives, over the objection of Powell Butte Rep. Mike McLane, voted to slap stiff fines on those even holding a cell phone in their hand while driving. First violation $1,000, second violation $2.000.
