Two Oregon lawmakers are introducing legislation that seeks to control what many call a wildly out of control prescription drug market, especially here in Oregon.
During a news conference on their proposed legislation, state Representative Rob Nosse and state Senator Elizabeth Hayward said their bill will help rein in drug prices that push the cost of medical care through the roof and beyond. Their plan requires that drug prices in the U.S. reflect prices for the same drugs sold in other countries, which don’t subject their citizens to the excesses of the “free market.”
