NEWPORT – The Lincoln County Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program is currently accepting new clients. WIC provides nutritious food, breastfeeding support, nutrition and parenting information and health referrals to families with children up to age 5. Appointments are offered in Newport, Lincoln City, and Siletz and bilingual (English and Spanish staff are available). Contact WIC for an appointment at 541-265-4163 for the Newport and Siletz locations and 541-265-0578 for Lincoln City.
WIC serves pregnant moms, post-partum moms, babies, and children up to age 5. Many working families qualify for WIC and if you already receive OHP or SNAP/food stamps you are automatically eligible for WIC.
Applicants must meet four criteria to be eligible for WIC:
• Live in Oregon.
• Be a pregnant, postpartum or breastfeeding woman, an infant or a child under 5 years old.
• Have a household income less than 185% of poverty guidelines, for a family of 4 thisequals $44,955 per year.
• Have a nutritional need or risk.
