See the music & hear the art: TUESDAY, Dec. 13 in Lincoln City
The LCCC is proud to present this third annual collaboration of art, music and the natural world, inspired by the 42nd anniversary of the Cascade Head Scenic Research Area. The Three Centuries Ensemble, led by Jonathan Dubay, will perform works inspired by nature, while artists Randall Koch and Victoria McOmie respond in real time. Taft 7-12 students will be there, too, interpreting Cascade Head with teachers Noah Lambie and Graham Klag. This year, the audience will be offered the chance to create, as well, with a collective art piece led by Chessman Gallery director Krista Eddy.
SONSOA offers a way to experience music and art through new mental pathways. Supported by a grant from the Oregon Arts Commission, with help from Salishan Spa & Golf Resort, the Studio to School Project, Melany & Duncan Berry, and with consideration from the Local AF & M.
There are TWO WAYS to enjoy this one-of-a-kind multi-arts experience:
Attend the one-hour morning show at 9 am on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Taft 7-12. It’s free and open to the public (but you must check in and get a visitor’s badge). The program includes Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” (Winter) and “Make Prayers to the Raven” by John Luther Adams.
Enjoy the 2-hour evening show at the Lincoln City Cultural Center, 7 pm on Dec. 13. They’ll perform the Adams piece mentioned above, plus Bach, Bloch, Schubert, Beethoven and more. Tickets are $20 in advance, $22 at the door, with $2 off for LCCC members. Local students in grades K-12 are admitted free, along with one free admission for an accompanying adult.
