The big Thanksgiving Day storms roaring ashore continue to batter the coast with high winds and big surf. These photos were taken by Ashley Vandehey and Daniel Walker, who are caretakers at Heceta Head Lighthouse just south of Yachats. As you can see, it’s no place to play tag with the waves because those monsters will grab you and haul you out to sea before you have a chance to scream HELP! So observe from a safe distance!
The weather forecast looks windy and very wet through the weekend and then tapering off during the week. So slow down – take it easy, watch out for your pets and hopefully we can all look forward to a colorful carpet of Spring flowers popping up in March!
