Class to illustrate Creatively Effective Suicide Intervention
The public is invited to learn ways to prevent suicide and how to help survivors in the aftermath of a suicide at a free class Monday, Nov. 21, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Center for Health Education, 740 SW Ninth St. in Newport.
Creative/Effective Interventions in Suicide: Prevention and coping in the aftermath, will be facilitated by licensed clinical social worker Edward I. Nelson. The class will focus on helping the survivors after a suicide. Survivors include family, friends and anyone who has felt a loss as a result of a suicide. Then the class will focus on preventing suicides with a special emphasis on children and teens.
Light refreshments will be served.
